it's soon art fight time! I'll be participating once more this year, and this time I'll try to attack more ahah.. but I can't promise anything. x-x

new to art fight?
it's this huge annual event were you are assigned a team and then you find people's characters on the other team and attack them by drawing that character! points will be given based on effort and quality of the artwork, even if you're new at art points will be given out equality to everyone, as long as you put in the work.
not a digital artist?
traditional, 3D and even crafts are welcome too! anything goes as long as you have fun, come try it out!

a new look at Eclipse
here's why.
I do not mind eclipse, I actually like the clean and organized look of it! it makes the site more focused on the art, it wouldn't be deviantART otherwise. yes I do love the original layout and after so many years it feels like home when it comes to uploading my art. and yet, I really don't mind the change. I do wish we could still have the option to keep the old layout for those who want it, I don't know why it's not possible but I have my suspicions on too much work for the dA servers in the long run etc.
the main complaint I see people make is that they don't like how close it looks to artstation, I disagree. I love the look of artstation and it's the main reason I like eclipse! "it's too dark" people say. if you didn't know there are three themes (so far) which are; light, dark, classic. yes, classic. white, black or green. using the classic color makes it still feel like dA and I love it! honestly sometimes when it switched eclipse on it took me a minute to even notice since it looked so similar to not having eclipse.
so don't like the dark look of eclipse? use the classic theme!
I will admit I haven't used eclipse too much so I'm not really familiar with how the uploading and stuff works but I'm sure it's not too difficult to get used to.
I really like the gallery in eclipse! and the profiles. I am a little sad you can't personalize your profile as much as you previously could, but hopefully that's something they will change in the future.
I will still use the old site for as long as they will let us, but overall I'm accepting of when eclipse fully comes.
and if I still have somehow missed just why people hate so much on it feel free to (politely) let me know!
